Strong assertion of territory

India firmly rejected the 1963 China-Pakistan boundary agreement, which sought to transfer the Shaksgam Valley to China. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson emphasized India's unwavering stance on the issue, stating that the country has consistently protested against any attempts to alter the ground realities in the region. India reiterated its right to take necessary measures to safeguard its interests, reaffirming its claim over the Shaksgam Valley.

Despite the ongoing border disputes between India and China, diplomatic efforts are underway to address the situation. Talks between the two countries at both military and diplomatic levels are ongoing, with a focus on achieving peace and tranquility along the border. While significant progress has been made in disengagement from certain friction points in eastern Ladakh, both sides are committed to further dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.

India has underscored the importance of maintaining peaceful relations with China, emphasizing that normalization of ties is contingent upon stability in the border areas. The recent protest against Chinese construction activities in the Shaksgam Valley reflects India's firm commitment to protecting its territorial integrity and interests. As diplomatic engagements continue, India remains steadfast in asserting its position on the Shaksgam Valley, signaling its determination to address challenges along the border while pursuing peaceful resolution through dialogue.
